We are a student-run Buddhist society in Cambridge that provides a platform for all who are interested to learn about Buddhism and meditation. We also happen to be the oldest university Buddhist society in the UK, established in 1952.
In the past 2500+ years, Buddhism has evolved into diverse traditions in different parts of world. Even within the broad groups of traditions (Theravāda, Mahāyāna, Vajrayāna etc.), there are slightly different ways of practice. At the Buddhist Society, we warmly welcome everyone, and organize activities related to all Buddhist traditions. This diversity has been and will always be our greatest strength.
Our past and present members come from all over the world—the UK, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bhutan, Singapore, China, Poland, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Greece, Peru, Russia, Mongolia, Ukraine, Korea and more!
For our constitution and past AGM materials, please reach out to the committee.
We are always looking out for new volunteers and committee members! If you are keen to help run this society, please also reach out to us.
Are you from a university society?
